Benefit They're Real Double The Lip Lipstick Swatches + Review

DSC05911.jpg

Hey guys! Welcome back :) I was so excited to swatch these for you guys because they're just so pretty! When they arrived in the mail (thank you Benefit HK team ladies!), I was like omg, is Benefit finally doing lips stuff?! YAY!So without further ado, you can either watch the video above, or read on below for my take on these lippies.

Packaging

These don't usually come in individual boxes, so fret not, you can just invest in a single colour of your choice instead of bombshelling on all eight. They do look like the They're Real mascaras, but the lightweight metallic tube looks really different from other lippies - which I love. The one thing that needs getting used to how you push up the product. To be precise, you need to twist the bottom (instead of the body). Other than that, I wish they had better indication of the shade other than a tiny sticker at the bottom!

The Shades

There are eight shades in total, with most of them circling around reds, pinks, corals and one nude. You may be worried that shades like Flame Game (bright orange) and Fuchsia Fever (bright pink) are hard to carry, but from what I've swatched they're pretty sheen, so you can either lay it on a clean lip for a subtle hue or use it on top of primers to make the colour really pop. It's got a good range I'd say, and the teardrop design really does make your lip look more 3D, but only like A TINY BIT. I wouldn't say it's the most obvious thing in the world. *ahem, kind of reminds me of the Laneige 2 tone lip bar...*

The Wear

When I read that it self-proclaimed as a LINER, I was like, no way. So... Sorry to burst your bubble, but this isn't a liner in a sense that it WILL rub off.  BUT I guess it IS a liner in a sense that it does give you the idea of lined lips because it's darker on the lines of your lips (because the top half of the teardrop is darker). With a few smack of the lips, the colours will blend together so it's not something really obvious (see above), but I'm not mad at it for being natural. The texture is buttery and feels like lip balm, and wearing it doesn't feel drying - so for girls who want another go at lipsticks but are scared of too much colour pay off or dry AF lips, these are the way to go!I would happily throw one of these in my bag (nude scandal fuh sure) as a cute upgrade from lip balms, but sadly they won't be replacing my liquid lips anytime soon.
