Summer Style Mood Boards

It sure is getting hot in HK, especially these two days, and that has forced me to not only clean out and minimize my wardrobe, but also, to re-think my style for the upcoming months. It's not often I play with these kind of style inspo posts, but I think it's definitely overdue! Because I often have different "occasions" and "moods" for when  I dress, I've created three mood boards that will keep me and hopefully you inspired through the season!ruemadame_office

Office Days

Tara Jarmon cropped top, Tara Jarmon Sleeveless Top, Tara Jarmon dress, Paul and Joe Culottes, Jonak Brogue Sandals, Aurelie Bidermann Ring, Tammy & Benjamin BagEspecially because nowadays it's not usual for everyone dress in suits, us girls have to spend extra time planning our outfits of the day around the events and meetings we have. My style for the weekdays are usually pretty minimal but casual, like a formal spin on norm-core. This is because I want to keep the items available for rotation and ease of mix-and-matching. It's particularly important to therefore invest in quality basic items with good details! Have staple accessories on hand too, because you'll need them when you're rushing out the door.ruemadame_weekends

Fun Weekends

G. Kero Printed DressEleven Paris tee, Madame Shoushou floral shorts, Veja Parrot SneakersSummer is of course all about florals and colours too, so save the fun prints and embroidery for the weekend. I fell in love with G.Kero's beach prints, which is also available in shirts, jackets! Nothing better than an a-line slip-on dress to just throw on and be out the door in 5 minutes, but if you wanted just a fun detail for a plain outfit, a pair of print sneakers will do the trick.ruemadame_party

The Summer Party Dress

Louise Misha dress, Mya Bay Rings, Didier Dubot Earrings, Tammy & Benjamin bag, Jonak SandalsPastels is another big hit with Pantone stating one of the colours of the year being a pastel pink. For an effortless, almost too easy party look, all you need is that one statement dress. Sequins is the oldest trick in the book, but I've given it an update here with a girly and fun Gatsby-styled soft pink dress. Keep your accessories in the same rose gold/coral tone and throw on some strappy flat sandals to keep yourself comfy all night long.YAY I hope you enjoyed the outfits I put together, because I sure am gonna start a shopping spree soon! All the items above (and more) can be found on Rue Madame's HK website, where you can now shop all things French and Parisian Chic from the comforts of your home/office.Let me know which item made it onto your wishlist!

Till next time, stay fabulous.xx
