The new spot in town: 22 Degrees North
Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while! This time I'm going to introduce you guys to a brand new hangout and shopping spot right next to my house. Just kidding, it's about a quarter of an hour away. Drumroll please, it's 22 Degrees North! Claiming to be the latest art and cultural joint in the heart of Shum Shui Po, the area is stuffed to the top with DIY materials and vintage electronics, as well as crazy good deals. So if you haven't been exploring this awesome area, hop on over anytime. But before you do that, check out more pictures of this amazing space!
Reinvented from a pre-war 4-storey building, 22DN is one of the many new up-and-coming new places for young artists, designers and art lovers alike to gather and chill out together. Normally you'll find us in cafes and galleries, but this space is definitely something different.
Now with three storeys, each dedicated for a different use, 22DN had me when they said art and culture. The ground floor stocks some of the most beautiful brands from local designers and international brands. The second floor became a cosy hangout for friends and customers (like me lol) to chill and just sit and enjoy the atmosphere. With a loft like space like this, it definitely doesn't feel like just any other boutique which pressures you to make a purchase everytime you touch something. (ahem, to all pushy salesmen, please. Learn!)
And finally the upper most floor is a space for art and cultural exhibitions (love!!) At the opening, a local artist's work was currently on display. It was a mini cityscape of Hong Kong made completely out of Vita Soy boxes! Absolutely adorable, and meticulously made. I seriously admire anyone who can put this much effort and details into their work! (Not unlike fashion and couture designers.)
Now onto the goodies! There are a couple of local designer brands stocked there, and quite a few I've already familiarised myself with at the JCCAC handicraft fairs. My fave would definitely be Made in Eden, which is a collection of mens bags and accessories made from Italian fine leather, but only at the cost of expensive PU bags! Also for the guys is Doughnut JAPAN, another awesome collection of sturdy and well designed bags made for travelling and everyday use! (Scottish checks for the winter, yes please.)
Of course there are goodies for us girls too, and they are Cupcake handbags, accessories from Carman Chan Jewelry, Oh My Deer, ADARGA, Lost and Find, FABcessories (my fave!) and so many more! From dainty accessories to grunge black leather chokers, you can find something for everyone in the small space of the shop.
Like what you see? Hit up 22 Degrees North at 88 Nam Cheong Street in Shum Shui Po! Don't worry, the dark side isn't so dark actually. *wink*
Till next time,xx
