Let a little bit of sun in,
Hey guys! I'm back with some weekend activities recommendation. This shoot was done in June (so sorry I've been saving the better ones for later...) and it was meant to come out with the first round of JCCAC's Handicraft fair. However, I was silly enough to go one day early and missed out all the goodies!
Anyway it's not my first visit to this bi/tri-monthly fair so I know my stuff when I say there are really a lot of goodies there. You'll be seeing a lot of leather, tote bags, jewellery and a ton of other cute things. Support the local art & design community and head down to my area (I live like two blocks away, how convenient for me hehehe) and check the local artists out!
JCCAC is actually an old and retired industrial building turned into studios and rented out to local artists and designers to house their workspace and display their art. Each month this place is packed with activities, workshops and film shows. Also with a cafe serving delish coffee and a resto, you can probably spend a whole day there wandering around.
However, you actually have to call in advance if you'd like to participate in workshops held by a specific studio, or if you'd just like to discover the in-house artists. Avoid disappointments and closed doors by checking out what's on in advance on their website!
Make sure you walk all the way in when you're sipping a cuppa at Cafe Golden, because round the corner inside has the most amazing collection of vintage housewares and small accessories collected from local families and people. Some gorgeous earrings and small items are even for sale! Plus it makes for an amazing place for a photo...
