AW14 trends with Monki

Hey guys! I know it's probably too early to talk sweaters and jackets, but in the fashaun world the fall winter shows are already in progress! So why not take a quick look for the trends next season with Monki's latest AW14 collection? You know you're gonna be lusting after these goodies a season later so it's time to mark down what's on the shopping list and be prepared...SlogansSlogans and snappy sentences are the IT thing to have on tees and sweaters, not just because it's hilarious, but also the best thing to use for the expressing of thyself. For the sole purpose of able to be sarcastic silently, I definitely am happy to see that these slogan tees are being carried over from summer onto AW14. The "Run with me" sweater also comes in a bright aqua green tank top, perfect for nights out running or afternoons "up in the gym, just working on your fitness"!Art + FashionFashion itself can already be considered as art nowadays, but there's also times when art is printed directly onto fashion and fabrics, which creates a different kind of coming together. In the past season you've probably seen many interpretations of art expressed with fashion (like Chanel's watercolor brush strokes and graffiti) so you shouldn't been too surprised to see this for the rest of the year into the winter too. By the way, I absolutely adore the skirt in the middle which is a kind of impressionist camouflage, totally my style amped up!Denim As we all know, denim is truly forever. Rather than calling it the trend, it'd be a lot more appropriate to observe the more popular cuts of the season. I think jeans are giving way for more feminine denim products like overall skirts, and full skirts, as well as a very curious denim crop top! As you can see Monki definitely took a softer touch when it comes to denim in AW14, and the full skirt, if nothing else, is definitely my pick for basically any occasion under the sun.(Mostly) Biker JacketsYes, the biker jackets are back like they have never left. Since FW13, they've made a considerable amount of appearances in various brands. And because they're so edgy, so cool, yet so easy to wear, I definitely won't be complaining that they're back for another season, and neither should your biker season from last winter! But what's changed is that the jackets have took an elongated turn and have all dropped down to thigh or even knee length, which is great because it elongates the body too! Also a honorable and very lovable mention to the elongated suit jacket, which will go very nicely with a crop top and some oxford shoes...More Prints & Patterns GaloreMuch like denim, patterns and prints are so versatile, it's hard to call it a trend without specifying which kind of pattern or print. Monki has always been good with their patterns, which can range from subtle to very OTT. But I'm definitely leaning towards the digital and tribal OTT prints this year, just because the patterns are so pretty and could go with any basic item. It's hard isn't it, one moment you're all about simplicity and monochrome and next thing you know, you're at the cashier paying for chiffon shirts and skirts in five different floral prints.... I know I know, this dressing well thing sure is tough! What did you like? Tell me all about it.

Till next time,xx
