As a super lazy person, I completely understand the need for delivery under any and all circumstances. Whether it’s a cosy Sunday afternoon in curling up with your favourite TV shows, or just after a late night at the office and you can’t for the life of you be bothered to cook… Food delivered to your door is always a heaven-sent treat. But apart from local cha-chan-tengs with their chinese-only menu and fast food that comes extremely slowly, we have always been short of options. That’s till I learnt about Food Panda landing here! I’ve tested out the handy app and everything for your sake (and my stomach’s sake!) so you know what you’re in for.
First of all, I’m an avid iPhone user and lover, so the Food Panda app is only a search away in the app store. Of course, for Android and Window users, it is equally as easy. You can also order from their website! I’ve screenshot the easy 3-step process to show you how to order food from your phone:
First, search for your address, or just let the GPS do it’s thing. Then, you can check out all the restaurants that are available to you right now.
I was so amazed because even though it’s still quite a short list on the Kowloon side (near my house….), there are actually over 100 restaurants available on the Island side! Including my all-time faves: K-roll, Nam Kee H, Healthy Chicken, Cali Burger, and so many more.
Then, all you have to do is check-out with your credit card or even pay with cash-on-delivery. It is obviously optional but recommended to check if there are any good deals around your area so you can do some saving!
We decided to order from JP Deli some delish teriyaki chicken rice box. And because I checked out the deals, I got a whooping $100HKD off my order, making the average price per person less than $30HKD. How awesome is that? I also got a confirmation SMS telling me the estimated time of delivery (55 minutes for me) and to confirm that they’ve received my order, how considerate!
The food quality of course will vary depending on which resto you order from, but we were extremely happy with what we’ve gotten. It was still hot, and the teriyaki sauce had us licking our spoons!
Basically, if you’re sick of Mcdelivery for now (let’s be honest…), you should definitely check out Food Panda. I’m super excited to try out new restaurants without actually having to make the trek and can just enjoy it from the comforts of my office desk. Also really good for company lunches, so your colleagues can pool for the minimum order.
Let me know if you’ve tried them out and what was your experience! If you haven’t, then go download the free app and check it out for yourself. Seriously, it’s honestly the best, especially with the not-so-cold-but-still-lazy winter coming.
P.S. here are the links to download the app, thank me later!
Till next time,
